PM Lauds Achievements of Sports Sector


Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of Cambodia, has expressed his appreciation for the achievements attained by the Kingdom’s sports sector.

Addressing the handover ceremony of the Royal Government’s rewards to the Cambodian medalists of regional and international sports competitions held here at the Peace Palace this afternoon, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet said sports has been actively contributed to strengthening the diplomacy and other relations of Cambodia.

The Premier reaffirmed the Royal Government of Cambodia’s commitment to continue to support the sports sector in order to inspire the public to play sports.

Samdech Thipadei Prime Minister also took note of the achievements of the Cambodian athletes when the Kingdom grabbed a total of 81 gold, 74 silver and 129 bronze medals from the 32nd SEA Games it hosted in May 2023.

H.E. Hang Chuon Naron, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Youth and Sports, said that the achievements in the sports sector have demonstrated the R
oyal Government’s attention, the involvement of all stakeholders, the delegation of functions, the financial support to the National Sports Federations, and the effective implementation of the National Policy on Physical Education and Sports Development.

The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports is determined to further encourage, promote and coordinate the request for the organisation of local championships and international competitions in order to draw techniques for developing the capacity of coaches, athletes, he underlined, adding that ministry will continue to organise and provide the Royal Government’s rewards for the winners.
