Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen had met some 680,000 garment and factory workers across Cambodia to learn about their welfare and help address challenges they face, since Aug. 20, 2017.
This is part of an ambitious commitment of Samdech Techo Prime Minister to hold get-togethers with all Cambodian workers in formal industrial and agricultural sectors, as well as those in informal economic operations.
However, as the timing set by National Election Committee (NEC) for political campaign toward the Cambodia's July 29 general elections is nearing, he decided to bring the commitment to a temporary � a compliance with the NEC's regulation.
As indicated by the election committee, the campaign for the sixth mandate political race will last from July 7 to 27.
Samdech Techo Prime Minister announced the temporary postponement of the dedicated meeting with Cambodian workers during his 49th get-together with over 27,500 of them in Kandal province yesterday.
As planned, the Cambodian Premier will ensure to meet all 1.5 million workers from especially garment, footwear and construction sector, as well as 2.4 and 4 million others from informal economic and agricultural operations, respectively.
Through the by far 49 get-togethers with Cambodian workers, Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen has taken actions and announced support policies to further promote their benefits.
