PM Encourages Students to Contribute to Maintaining Peace

Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen encouraged here this morning all young students to continue contributing to maintaining peace.

Speaking at a get-together at the Peace Palace with 443 high school students who got grade A in this year's exams, Samdech Techo Hun Sen said peace had been hardly earned in last 40 years.

Your grand-parents have contributed intensively, therefore you all (the younger generation) must contribute to maintaining peace and protecting the achievements earned by your grand-parents in over the past 40 years, he underlined.

Don't forget, the current achievements have been attained thanks to your grand-parents' sacrifice [], he added.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen also took the opportunity to remind that if there was no civil war starting from Mar. 18, 1970, Cambodia would see much more development.

According to the Premier, in the 1960s, the GDP per capita of Cambodia was recorded at US$272, while that of South Korea about US$100.
