Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen has appealed to all women to increase their capacities so that they can contribute more in the social development.
The appeal was made at the celebration of the 105th International Women's Day held here this morning at the Peace Palace under the theme "Investing in Gender Equity is key for Sustainable Development."
Women and girls have to improve themselves through education, capacity development in order to assist their own families and society, underlined the Cambodian premier.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen also called on all relevant institutions as well as development partners and international organisations to further take part in protecting and enhancing women's rights and in providing them equitable access to social affairs.
This year's theme is aimed to increase and strengthen women's and girls' empowerment, awareness on their rights, and women's participation in making decisions at all levels, as well as accountability mechanism for gender equity; and to continue enhancing women's contribution in the economic sector for an equitable economic growth and sustainable development.
