Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, has called on all political parties in Cambodia to respect the political rights of the citizens.

In his address to the inauguration ceremony of two school buildings and the graduation ceremony of over 4,600 students of the Institute of Technology of Cambodia, at the Koh Pich Convention and Exhibition Centre this morning, Samdech Techo Hun Sen said that a group of young activists who used to support the opposition party turned to support the Royal Government and the ruling Cambodian People's Party, but they have been insulted by some parties or individuals.

“You (Opposition party or activists) have not respected the political freedom of these young people. They are well aware that their support for the opposition party has been in vain in the past, and they now know who you are,” he continued, adding that they thought it would be better to work with the government such as in environmental protection or other issues for the national interest.

At the same time, the Premier appealed to all youth groups not to use violence or excessive actions against those who insulted them, just release statements to explain to the public about the truth.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen said that those political parties should come to learn from the CPP because it has never prevented its members from joining other parties. “We always respect their right to choose. All should learn about real democracy by respecting the rights of the people and not to do anything to make the youths react more strongly,” he stressed.
