Piloted plantation of imported potatoes in the northeastern Mondulkiri province has proved to be successful, according to local media report.
As quoted in the source, Mr. Song Kheang, Head of Mondulkiri Provincial Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Department updated that the locals can get the potato seeds for a try free of charge.
By far, he continued, Royal University of Agriculture in collaboration with an organisation in Korea has piloted the plantation of the potatoes and it is successful � thanks to the cool weather in the province.
The areas tried include Sen Monorom, Dakdam and Bousra and within three years the harvest during each plantation cycle increased from 17 to 20 tons per hectare.
