Phnom Penh SEZ Plc, UNDP Sign Cooperation MoU for Sustainable Development Goals

Phnom Penh Special Economic Zone (SEZ) Plc, a leading industrial zone developer and operator in Cambodia, and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) have agreed to cooperate in social works toward the realisation of sustainable development goals.

A MoU on their cooperation was inked here yesterday between Mrs. Lim Chhiv Ho, Chairwoman of Phnom Penh SEZ and Mrs. Claire Van de Vaeren, UNDP Representative to Cambodia.

The MoU is the first agreement of its kind in Cambodia, made under the UN Social Impact Fund (UNSIF) for building partnership between UNDP and investors to help society aiming at achieving the sustainable development goals by 2030.

The partnership will reflect the Phnom Penh SEZ's contribution to achieving the 8th sustainable development goal (Promote sustainable, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work) and the 12th sustainable development goal (Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns), according to Mr. Hiroshi Uematsu, CEO of Phnom Penh SEZ.
