First direct flight from Phnom Penh of Cambodia to Da Nang city of Vietnam has been scheduled for Nov. 27, according to the Ministry of Tourism.
Cambodian Minister of Tourism H.E. Thong Khon discussed the first direct flight with a delegation of the Cambodia Angkor Air that will operate the flight, at the ministry here in Phnom Penh yesterday afternoon.
The minister encouraged the company to work hard to further improve its service quality because Cambodia Angkor Air is the national flag carrier of Cambodia.
H.E. Thong Khon underlined that Da Nang is a key tourist destination of Vietnam, welcoming many international tourists every year, so direct flight connection with the city will allow more inflow of foreign visitors to Cambodia, too.
Apart from domestic flights, Cambodia Angkor Air has been operating direct flights between Siem Reap and Da Nang, Siem Reap and Hanoi, Sihanoukville and Beijing, etc.
H.E. Thong Khon also encouraged the company to consider more direct flights to major regions of China particularly where the Royal Consulate General offices of Cambodia situated, including Xi'an, Chongqing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Beijing.
