Over US$10.5 Billion Generated from Agricultural Production in 2021

Cambodia generated US$10,567 million from agricultural production in 2021, up about 33 percent compared to 2020, according to a preliminary report of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries (MAFF).

Figures from MAFF also showed that last year’s agricultural production saw an increase by 23 percent to more than 35.9 million tonnes.

The agricultural crops included rice (12.2 million tonnes), and horticultural crops such as vegetables, fruits and indoor plants (4.6 million tonnes), the report pointed out.

Agro-industrial crops – cassava, corn, sugar cane, cashew nut, coconut, etc. reached 19.1 million tonnes, it added.

The ministry stated that the agricultural product export with certificates was amounted to US$3,958 million, up 105.43 percent, while non-certificate agricultural product export was valued at US$959 million, down 36.29 percent increase, and the agricultural products for local consumption at US$5,648 million, up 25.45 percent.
