Under its new Colombo plan, the Government of Australia is sending over 800 students for their internship in Cambodia this year.
Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, shared the information while presiding over the graduation ceremony of 1,630 young teachers of the National Institute of Education of Cambodia here in Phnom Penh on Thursday.
The premier welcomed the Australia's plan exempliflying internship programme between ASEAN countries and Australia, consequently contributing to enhancing education among the countries.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen underlined that human resources training is necessary and the Royal Government of Cambodia has been working hard in putting forward policy in order to improve education equality.
He also encouraged his line authorities as well as private sector as partners to increase the investment in the field of education.
There are currently 3,300,000 Cambodian students and 110,000 teachers throughout the country.
