Outgoing Indian Ambassador Commends Cambodia on Tourism Progress

Outgoing Ambassador of India to Cambodia H.E. Naveen Srivastava highly appreciated the progress of tourism sector in Cambodia, while paying a farewell visit to Cambodian Minister of Tourism H.E. Thong Khon, here on May 24.

The Indian diplomat suggested Cambodia attend exhibitions in India as much as possible as Indian people know only Angkor Wat Temple, not the country. In India, Cambodia can promote Siem Reap cultural province as a destination for marriage while Preah Sihanouk coastal province as a honeymoon site, he added.

For his part, H.E. Thong Khon said Cambodia wants more Indian tourists through a direct flight between Cambodia and New Delhi.

Last year, Cambodia welcomed over 5 million foreign tourists, of them about 40,000 were Indian visitors.
