National Polytechnic Institute of Cambodia (NPIC) has organised 2018 Job Fair to promote employment and internship opportunities among its students.
Second of its kind, the job fair taking place on July 4 at the campus of the Cambodia's biggest polytechnic institute located at the suburb of Phnom Penh attracted 26 companies, and hundreds of students attended it.
The event does not only expose students to career information and employment policies necessary for them to get prepared, but also links opportunity for companies as well as enterprises to qualified students fit their available vacancies � NPIC Director H.E. Bun Phearin told the local media.
He added that technical vocational skills are indispensable in current and future labour market and significant for the development of Cambodia, and it is a priority of the Royal Government of Cambodia.
During the fair, a representative of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) encouraged Cambodian students to further value technical vocational skills as essential career openings.
The second NPIC Job Fair 2018 was made possible through a cooperation between the institute and JICA.
According to NPIC's record, since the existence of the institute in 2005, a total of about 3,000 Cambodian students have been trained with 12 technical vocational skills of mechanics, construction, engineering, computer science, and electronics.
