Cambodia recorded nearly 3 million foreign visitors during the first five months of this year, up 11.4 percent from the same period last year, according to a report of the Ministry of Tourism.
Among them, added the report, 2,018,935 tourists arrived in the Kingdom by air, up 16.9 percent; 785,774 by land, down 1.1 percent; and 83,752 by waterway, up 15.4 percent.
Only in May 2019, the number of international tourists visiting Cambodia saw a year-on-year increase by 12.8 percent to 472,852 people.
The main markets for Cambodian tourism are China, ASEAN countries such as Vietnam, Laos and Thailand, and South Korea.
Most international tourists visited Phnom Penh capital, Siem Reap cultural province, coastal and mountainous provinces.
