A delegation of the National Bank of Cambodia (NBC) attended last week the 24th Meeting of the Central Bank Governors of French-speaking Countries in Montreux, Switzerland.
The NBC delegation was led by its Deputy Governor H.E. Sum Sannisith, said an NBC's press release
This annual meeting, held on May 25-26, 2017, was attended by governors and delegates from 30 central banks representing 42 countries in Europe, America, Africa, and Asia.
At the meeting, H.E. Sum Sannisith gave a presentation on Cybersecurity: impact of technology on management and communications of central banks.
According to a press release of the Swiss National Bank, the central bank governors of French-speaking countries come together once a year in one of the member countries to examine matters of common interest and exchange analyses and experiences. Cambodia hosted such meeting in 1996 and 2011.
The 2017 meeting explored the opportunities and challenges digitalisation presents to central banks. It was divided into three sessions, covering the impact of digitalisation on the financial system, its repercussions on monetary policy and financial regulation, as well as its effects on the management of central banks.
