National Meanchey University Smart Classroom Construction and IT Competency Reinforcement Project Inaugurated

The National Meanchey University (NMU) in collaboration with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) inaugurated the NMU Smart Classroom Construction and IT Competency Reinforcement Project, in Banteay Meanchey province late last week.

The inauguration ceremony was presided by H.E. Sok Khorn, Head of Management Committee of NMU and Mr. Kim Kwang Wook, Deputy Country Director of KOICA Cambodia office.

According to KOICA Cambodia, the project was designed by the KOCIA volunteer Ms. Jang Inyoung (computer education) with co-support from the KOICA and NMU. The establishment of the smart classroom aims to enhance the Korean department and information technology department students experience on language practicing, technologies and research.

The KOICA supported 21 sets of computer, desk and chair (US$21,000) and the NMU supported electricity installation, the internet and classroom renovation (US$2,050), it added.

The project will contribute to the achievement of the Royal Government of Cambodia’s Rectangular Strategy and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) (Goal 4 Quality Education), which ensures equitable and inclusive education and promotes opportunity for lifelong learning, said the source.
