Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin, President of the National Assembly (NA), have advised the group of Cambodian youths who will participate in the 45th SSEAYP 2018 to be good guides and diplomats.
While receiving here yesterday the 29-member Cambodian youth delegation for the 45th Ship for Southeast Asian and Japanese Youth Programme (SSEAYP) 2018, Samdech Heng Samrin recommended them to act as good guides and diplomats representing Cambodia by maintaining national honour, value and culture, as well as to enhance the culture, tourism and national identity.
Samdech Heng Samrin stressed that participation in SSEAYP was a good opportunity for Cambodian youths to strengthen and expand the ties of friendship and mutual understanding with their counterparts from other ASEAN countries and Japan.
The NA president also advised the Cambodian delegates to know their own and other countries' history well, to study the progress of other countries, and to help each other in all circumstances.
SSEAYP was created in 1974 to foster friendship and greater understanding among youths from ASEAN and Japan as well as to promote regional cooperation. Cambodia joined the programme in 2000.
This year's programme will last from Oct. 23 to Dec. 13 and the ports of call are Brunei, the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam and Japan.
