NA President Receives UN Special Rapporteur on Human Rights in Cambodia

Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin, President of the National Assembly (NA) of Cambodia, has received visiting United Nations Rapporteur on Human Rights in Cambodia Ms. Rhona Smith.

In the meeting taking place yesterday at the NA Palace in Phnom Penh, Samdech Heng Samrin recalled that Cambodia was suffered by civil war over three decades, and the incident was resulted by interference from foreign countries.

With the said reason, he added, the Royal Government of Cambodia is working hard to ensure peace, social and political stability as well as development in the country.

Samdech Heng Samrin also spoke highly of Ms. Rhona Smith's contribution to promoting human rights and democracy in Cambodia.
