Cambodian leaders and the general public gathered last night at the Win-Win Memorial in Sangkat Prek Tasek, Khan Chroy Changvar, Phnom Penh, in a New Year countdown event in a peaceful and joyful environment.
The Cambodian leaders included Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, National Assembly President Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin, Senate President Samdech Vibol Sena Pheakdei Say Chhum and many other high-ranking officials.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen this morning shared a brief message on his official Facebook page expressing his gratitude to the local authorities, ministries, institutions, artists, sponsors and other stakeholders for their participation for this successful countdown event.
Moreover, he thanked the Ministry of National Defence, charitable people and other concerned people for their contribution to the construction of the Win-Win Memorial and to the organisation of an official ceremony to inaugurate this historic monument on the 20th anniversary of the Win-Win policy, from Dec. 29 to 31, 2018.
The Prime Minister also took the opportunity to thank his compatriots for taking part in the New Year's Eve at the Win-Win Memorial in a wonderful atmosphere, especially the 50-minute fireworks.
According to Minister of Tourism, H.E. Thong Khon, more than one million people enjoyed the New Year countdown at the Memorial last night.
