The figure of outbound Cambodians as tourists to other countries has increased remarkably, thanks to improved living condition and better flight connections.
According to the figure from the ministry of tourism, 1.9 million Cambodians suggesting a year-on-year increase of nearly 14 percent travelled overseas in 2018.
Mr. Ho Vandy, Secretary General of Cambodia National Tourism Alliance, agreed that more flight connections encouraged travels of Cambodians, adding that competitive price of the transport and higher household income also contribute to it.
Cambodia's three international airports in Phnom Penh capital and Siem Reap and Preah Sihanouk provinces handled 636 regular and charter flights every week, said a report from Cambodia Airports, the developer and operator of the three international airports in Cambodia.
