NORTH WILDWOOD — Police believe a body found in Hereford Inlet on Saturday night is that of a 16-year-old boy reported missing last week.
North Wildwood Police said they were notified about a body floating in the inlet around 6 p.m. on Saturday.
The body, which was recovered soon after, matches the description of a teenager who was last seen on Tuesday by his family on the 500 block of East Second Avenue, police said.
A swimmer was spotted in distress in Hereford Inlet on Tuesday morning, according to police, but rescue attempts were unsuccessful.
The name of the teenager was not released.
