Cambodia has currently almost 400 tourism sites, 56 tourism communities and ecotourism sites, according to the latest update by the Ministry of Tourism.
Speaking here yesterday at a dissemination meeting on 2nd model tourism resort contest, along with the 1st model community-based tourism and ecotourism competition, H.E. Chea Bora, Secretary of State for Tourism said those sites have been registered officially by Provincial and Municipal Departments of Tourism.
Beside them, Cambodia has many other potential tourism areas, he underlined.
To further promote those sites to the tourists, H.E. Chea Bora encouraged all stakeholders to better prepare for curated adventure, tourism promotion on social media (Facebook, Twitter, Line, Snapchat ), etc. as well as to ensure security and safety for the tourists.
Mr. Chok Chumno, Director of Tourism Product Development of the Ministry of Tourism, mentioned some tourism communities that have followed the Cambodian and ASEAN Community-based Tourism Standards such as Chipat and Areng in Koh Kong province, Chambak in Kampong Speu, Koh Trong in Kratie, and Banteay Chhmar in Banteay Meanchey.
