Minister of Labour and Vocational Training has received a delegation of Vietnam Rubber Group to clarify the spirit of government's labour policies.
The Minister, H.E. Ith Samheng, met the delegation led by Vice Manager of the Group Mr. Truong Minh Trung at the ministry office here in Phnom Penh yesterday.
The meeting cleared out grey areas and reiterated the stance of the Royal Government of Cambodia for fair and transparent cooperation with foreign companies in Cambodia, including Vietnam.
Newly introduced labour policies by the government, underlined H.E. Ith Samheng, are applicable for both domestic and foreign workers in Cambodia.
In 2009, Cambodia and Vietnam signed MoU on rubber farming investment on 100,000 hectares of land surface in Cambodia.
As of September 2018, rubber trees on over 30,000 hectares of the land could be tapped and about 15,000 labours have been employed, and it was expected that by 2022, the harvest can be done for 93,000 hectares by and estimated 40,000 workers.
