H.E. Say Samal, Minister of Environment, has received visiting Long Beach city mayor, California of the United States of America Dr. Robert Garcia.
In the meeting taking place here in Phnom Penh early this week, Dr. Robert Garcia shared with H.E. Say Samal that this is his first time visiting the Kingdom of Cambodia and expressed his appreciation of the country's lifestyle and hospitality.
The major underlined that Long Beach is a city with a big community of people of Cambodian origin, and a Cambodian town has been created.
The U.S. government is paying very close attention to support the development in the community, added the mayor.
He also spoke highly of Cambodia's rapid development, especially in Phnom Penh capital, and looked forward to more intimate relationship between Phnom Penh and Long Beach city.
From his end, H.E. Say Samal expressed warm welcome to Dr. Robert Garcia's visit and was positive that this visit will further strengthen cooperation between the two cities mentioned.
The minister briefed the U.S. major on the Royal Government of Cambodia's efforts in promoting Cambodians' standard of living and in sustaining peace, political stability and economic growth with special attention on environmental sustainability.
