Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries H.E. Veng Sakhon received here this morning Mr. Luke Arnold, Senior Official of the Australian Embassy in Phnom Penh, according the ministry's news release.
In the meeting, both sides discussed key areas such as the progress of the implementation of the Cambodian Agricultural Value Chain Programme that works to strengthen market connections, promote greater investment and value added along with specific product value chains, linking suppliers, farmers and consumers.
They also touched on more bilateral cooperation programmes, and ideas around tripartite dialogue among Cambodia, Australia and China on agricultural project.
H.E. Veng Sakhon expressed his appreciation of the Australian development partner and thanked them for their contribution to the development of Cambodia, especially in the field of agriculture.
All Australian assistances, he continued, support the use of existing resources and potential to improve agricultural productivity, diversification and trade to create jobs, ensure food security and nutrition, and increase agricultural exports.
They are improving Cambodians' living standard, reduce poverty, and promote the economic growth of the Kingdom, he added.
