Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries has received a delegation of the World Organisation for Animal Health known in short as OIE to discuss about animal health control in Cambodia.
According to the May 16 post on the Facebook page of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, certified animal health control is vital for Cambodia to export animal products to both regional and international markets.
From the meeting taking place yesterday at the ministry office here in Phnom Penh, H.E. Minister Veng Sakhon received updates on a two-week assessment study of visiting OIE delegation led by Dr. John Weaver on Cambodia's existing animal health control mechanisms.
The results of the study will shed light to necessary measures by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries to fix current gaps in animal health control.
As underlined by the source, the ministry will ground on the result of the assessment study to build a comprehensive action plan to promote animal health control in Cambodia, particularly for commercial purpose.
