Malaysian Premier to Pay State Visit in Cambodia in September

H.E. Mahathir bin Mohamad, Prime Minister of Malaysia, is going to pay a state visit to Cambodia in coming September.

The information was unveiled by H.E. Eldeen Husaini Mohd Hashim, Ambassador of Malaysia to Cambodia, while paying a courtesy call on H.E. Mrs. Men Sam An, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the National Assembly-Senate Relations and Inspection, at the ministry office yesterday.

The purpose of the meeting was to seek advice from H.E. Ms. Men Sam An to further strengthen and expand cooperation between the peoples and government of both countries, particularly in diplomatic relations and economy.

H.E. Mrs. Men Sam An was optimistic about the state visit of Malaysian premier which will further strengthen friendship, solidarity and cooperation between Cambodia and Malaysia, adding that Cambodia is ready for the visit.

H.E. Mrs. Men Sam An further expressed support for bilateral cooperation between Cambodia and Malaysia, considering the latter as good friend, and informed his guest about the effort of the Royal Government of Cambodia in enhancing cooperation and protecting investment partners through anti-corruption.

The minister also thanked the Government of Malaysia for its contribution to seeking peace and building national economy of Cambodia.

For his part, H.E. Eldeen Husaini Mohd Hashim informed H.E. Mrs. Men Sam An that Malaysia is a country with leading business models, and now over 400 Malaysian companies are doing their business in Cambodia.

The Malaysian ambassador also praised the progress and development of Cambodia as well as the country's political stability, security, economy, trade, tourism, and construction
