Phnom Penh has hosted the so-called Major and Career Fair 2019 � a platform that allows knowledge and experience sharing among students and successful graduates.
The important annual event was organised by Ministry of Education Youth and Sport in cooperation with Fulbright and the Undergraduate State Alumni Association of Cambodia (FUSAAC) and other relevant agencies.
Education secretary of state H.E. Im Koch presided over the opening of the major and career fair that expected participation of some 2,000 students.
The fair intended to provide key information and practical experience related to majors at university and job market in Cambodia to especially high-school goers.
About 60 percent of Cambodian population are under the age of 30, and it is estimated that some 250,000 youth enter the job market every year.
H.E. Im Koch thanked all stakeholders especially FUSAAC to contribute to making the event happen to help orient students to be ready for the job they like and are great at.
The major and career fair was originated in 2011 with different thematic focus each year in order to be responsive to the emerging job market.
