Active low pressure happening in South China Sea next to Hainan Island is predicted to bring rainfalls in Upper Mekong River basin and other areas in Cambodia.
The forecast was shared by the Ministry of Water Resource and Meteorology yesterday.
According to the ministry's weather forecast from July 2 to 8, the influence of low pressure with heavy southwest monsoon causes rainfalls in most parts of the Kingdom.
Cambodia's coastal provinces of Koh Kong and Preah Sihanouk will receive rainfalls from medium to heavy level; and might experience strong wind and high sea wave.
Northeast highland and provinces along the border of Cambodia and Vietnam may experience medium and heavy rainfalls, while the central lowland and northwest provinces will have less rain.
There are also rainfalls from less to medium level in Phnom Penh and provinces of Kampong Speu, Kandal, Takeo and Kampot.
The Ministry of Water Resource and Meteorology also called on the public to keep high vigilance of lightning and gusts.
