The Embassy of Japan announced here this morning the logo to mark the 65th Anniversary of Friendship between Japan and Cambodia, according to a press release from the embassy.
To commemorate the memorable year for both countries, the Embassy has conducted the competition of a creative logo of that event and received many applications.
The official logo was selected among 31, which is created by Chan Tep Khemarin, a 15 years old, the 10th grade student from Future Bright International School in Siem Reap province.
This logo was announced by H.E. Prak Sokhon, Senior Minister and Minister of Foreign Affair and International Cooperation and H.E. Hidehisa Horinouchi, Ambassador of Japan at the signing ceremony of the Project for the construction of Teacher Education College held today.
The concept of this logo is inspired by Japan and Cambodia paper fan. It's a combination of both flags into the fan and it's also designed to convey the message of long-lasting friendship between Cambodia and Japan. written by the winner, Chan Tep Khemarin.
This logo combined Cambodian and Japanese flag on decorative fan. I hope this Japan-Cambodia's friendship will be blooming just like this opened fan in a whole year of 2018, said H.E. Hidehisa Horinouchi.
The 65th Anniversary of Friendship between Japan and Cambodia will be held from January 1, 2018 till December 31, 2018. During this significant period, the Embassy of Japan and the Royal Government of Cambodia as well as private organizations will organize many memorable events which expects participation of a plenty of Japanese and Cambodian people to cherish for the whole year's event.
