The Ministry of Public Works and Transport has planned to establish a logistics complex in Phnom Penh and asked the private sector to join in the construction.
H.E. Sun Chanthol, Senior Minister and Minister of Public Works and Transport shared the update with reporters after a meeting on Wednesday.
He continued that the ministry has already identified a location near Phnom Penh Autonomous Port for the construction of the logistics complex.
"We are planning the construction, but still looking for partner from the private sector to support the initiative. We hope to receive application expressing interest from the private sector soon," he said, adding that the feasibility study of the logistics complex will take six months.
The construction of the logistics complex is the first project under a master plan supported by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) within the framework of Public Private Partnership.
This project will play a key role in providing options for land, rail and water transportation, reducing logistics costs, enhancing Cambodia's competitiveness of products and services, and greasing the integration of Cambodia into regional and global supply chains.
