A big South Korea listed automotive factory has been launched in Cambodia with the capacity to assemble about 20,000 cars per year, according to local media report.
Located in the Southeast Svay Rieng province, the car assembly plant branded Daehan Auto Cambodia will start its operation next year, 2018.
The source cited Mr. Keo Sokheang, Director of Free Zone Management Department General Department of Customs and Excise of Cambodia, who was part of the recent inauguration of the plant claiming that it will employ some 10,000 local workers.
The investment, he added, responds very well to the Industrial Development Policy 2015-2025 of the Royal Government of Cambodia a guidance to boost industry diversification in the country.
The report also underlined positive feedback from H.E. Mey Kalyan, a Senior Advisor to the Supreme Economic Council of Cambodia about the existence of the factory.
Daehan Auto Cambodia is the second plant of the kind licensed by the government to operate in Cambodia.
