Fourteen (14) Cambodian government officials who are selected for master's degree scholarship programme for academic year 2018-2020 in the Republic of Korea attended a pre-departure orientation organised here on July 24 by Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) Cambodia Office.
According to its press release issued this evening, KOICA Cambodia Office briefly introduced the master's degree courses and orientated participants about the important things in Korea, the information of the Cambodia-Korea Alumni Association (CAMKAA), and code of conduct of the training programme.
The selected scholars showed their gratitude and assured their support for KOICA and Korean government and committed to bring social and policy reforms in Cambodia after learning from Korean experience.
Country Director of KOICA Cambodia Office, Mr. Jeong Yun Gil, welcomed and congratulated the scholars. He also requested the participants to avail this excellent opportunity to learn from Korea's development during their stay and to share their experience in Cambodia for sustainable development.
With a mission to support human resources development (HRD) in partner countries, KOICA invites talented people from Cambodia and helps them gain professional and systematic knowledge that will play a key role in Cambodia.
The KOICA Scholarship Programme is one of the prestigious fully-funded scholarship schemes provided by the Government of the Republic of Korea to the KOICA's partner countries. The Programme started in Cambodia in 1994 and aims to share Korea's unique development experiences with the Kingdom and contributes to its long-term development needs.
To accomplish this mission, KOICA has been operating master's degree courses with leading 20 Korean universities in the fields of agriculture, rural development, education, government and technology, environment and energy. For this 2018, there are 14 scholars who passed master's degree courses with leading 13 Korean universities.
