Khmer New Year Celebration Generates US$300 Million National Income

Recent Khmer Traditional New Year, from April 14-16, has generated about US$300 million as national income, according to the record of the Ministry of Tourism.

The culturally rich celebrations, added the record, at different locations across the country have inspired travels of about 5 million domestic and international tourists.

Angkor Sankranta 2018 organised in Siem Reap province alone received almost two million visitors � roughly 97 percent of them are national tourists.

Well branded nationally and internationally, the past six Angkor Sankranta have contributed significantly to promoting tourism in the country.
