If you’re looking for an outdoor restaurant-bar with a front seat view of Manhattan, look no further than Surf City in Jersey City.
Beginning at 4 p.m. on Friday, May 15, the megabar and restaurant, which opened three years ago, will kick off its second full spring/summer season.
Surf City, located at 1 Marin Blvd., closed after it was filled with six feet of water from Superstorm Sandy and had no power until March 2013. It underwent a multi-million dollar restoration and reopened in June 2013, spokeswoman Karina N. Moscoso said.
The huge restaurant has indoor and outdoor waterfront dining, three indoor bars, three outdoor bars, four dining decks, a sandy beach with fire pits for guests to enjoy and a raw bar.
The menu has everything from burgers and lobster rolls and fish and chips, to crab cakes, seafood steam pots and barbequed baby back ribs.
The megabar and restaurant offers wine, 25 beers on tap with constantly changing selections from Europe and the United States, in addition to a dedicated tropical frozen drink bar.
The facility has free parking and is easily accessible by light rail.
Surf City will be open weekdays 4 p.m. to 2 a.m., with happy hour from 4 to 7 p.m.; and weekends noon to 3 a.m.
