Japan’s Mizuho Bank Opened

Mizuho Bank of Japan has been officially opened in Cambodia recently to boost more Japanese investments in the country.

A reception to mark the bank's opening was organised here early this week at the Embassy of Japan in Cambodia under the presidency of H.E. Chea Chanto, Governor of the National Bank of Cambodia (NBC) and Japanese Ambassador H.E. Horinouchi Hidehisa.

Speaking on the occasion, H.E. Chea Chanto spoke highly of the opening of Mizuho Bank's branch in Cambodia, stressing that it reflects the good ties of friendship, solidarity and cooperation between the two countries, as well as the confidence of Japanese investors in Cambodia's banking sector.

The bank will contribute to the development of the banking sector of Cambodia, aiming at boosting the country's economic growth.

For his part, H.E. Horinouchi Hidehisa congratulated Mizuho Bank on its operation in Cambodia, saying that it will contribute importantly to Cambodia's economic growth in the future.

Mizuho Bank is the third biggest banks in Japan with business operations in 549 places around the world. The bank is currently operating in eight ASEAN countries like Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Myanmar and Cambodia.
