The Japan Foundation, in cooperation with the Embassy of Japan, the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts, and Cambodia-Japan Cooperation Centre (CJCC), will organise the Japanese Film Festival 2019 on Nov. 20-24 in Phnom Penh, and on Dec. 6-10 in Siem Reap province.
According to the Embassy of Japan's press release issued this morning, during the Festival, Japanese films selected from a wide range of different categories will be screened at Major Cineplex of AEON Mall I and II and the Legend Cinema of TK Avenue in Phnom Penh and at Major Cineplex in Siem Reap.
The selection includes drama, mystery, musical, animation, history and comedy, pointed out the same source, underlining that these films portray various aspects of Japanese life, society and culture and will provide a good opportunity for audience to familiarise themselves with Japan and its people.
The 10 Japanese films will be screened with Khmer and English subtitles. Screening schedule is published on the Japanese Film Festival website at the following link: (http://kh.japanesefilmfest.org/screening-schedule/). The admission is free.
Japanese Film Festival has been held every year since 2015 to promote cultural exchange between Japan and Cambodia.
