The Government of Japan is committed to strengthen its environment cooperation with Cambodia through Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
The commitment was made known yesterday during a meeting between Cambodian Minister of Environment H.E. Say Samal and visiting H.E. Yasuo Takahashi, Japan's Vice Minister for Global Environmental Affairs, Ministry of the Environment.
The bilateral meeting was held on the sidelines of the happening 9th High-Level Seminar on Environmentally Sustainable Cities hosted by the Ministry of Environment in Siem Reap province.
Under the cooperation framework, Japan will support Cambodia with management of waste recycling, climate change and sustainable urbanisation projects.
H.E. Say Samal thanked the Japanese counterpart for the assistance, adding that Cambodia is ready to work on the projects with Japan.
The 9th High-Level Seminar on Environmentally Sustainable Cities in Siem Reap is taking place from Mar. 8 to 10.
