Japan Supports NIPES Sport Facilities

Japan has officially handed over its support for a broad range of sport facilities at Cambodia National Institute of Physical Education and Sports here in Phnom Penh.

Minister of Education, Youth and Sports H.E. Hang Chuon Naron and H.E. MIKAMI Masahiro, Ambassador of Japan to Cambodia co-chaired the handover ceremony on Dec. 8.

According to NIPES Director Ms. Hou Sethsophealay, the three-year sport facility support project began in January 2019 and was financed by grant projects from Japan.

The KUSANONE Project, NPO/NGO Hearts of Gold, and Fujisawa Minami Rotary Club, she said, jointly support the construction of athletic running track, pool, and gym building equipped with various sport materials.

H.E. Hang Chuon Naron expressed his deep appreciation of the continuing support from the said projects as well as the Government of Japan.

He stressed that the support contributes significantly to further development of National Institute of Physical Education and Sports.
