Japan Reaffirms Continued Support for Cambodia

The National Diet of Japan has reaffirmed to continue to support Cambodia, H.E. Eang Sophalleth, Assistant to Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, told reporters after the meeting in Siem Reap province this morning between the Cambodian Prime Minister and visiting H.E. Takuji Yanagimoto, a Member of the House of Representatives of Japan.

According to the assistant, H.E. Takuji Yanagimoto noted the increasing Japanese investments in Cambodia and the good relations between the two peoples as well as the high economic growth of Cambodia which reflects the country's good endeavors. Therefore, he added, Japan will continue its support to Cambodian development efforts.

H.E. Takuji Yanagimoto also extended his congratulations to Cambodia for the successful hosting of the 27th Annual Meeting of Asia-Pacific Parliamentary Forum (APPF-27) and thanked Cambodia for its warm hospitality.

In reply, Samdech Techo Hun Sen thanked the Japanese delegation for its attendance in the APPF-27 and recalled Japan's key role in Cambodia's peace-building process, reconstruction and development.
