Japan has decided to provide more than US$20 million in grant to expand the capacity of clean water supply in Phnom Penh capital.
The decision was made known by H.E. Mikami Masahiro, Japanese Ambassador to Cambodia during a meeting here early this week with Cambodian Senior Minister and Minister of Industry and Handicraft H.E. Dr. Cham Prasidh.
H.E. Dr. Cham Prasidh spoke highly of the Japanese government’s assistance, especially in water treatment sector.
Thanks to Japan’s support clean water access is reaching most parts of Cambodia, including Phnom Penh, and provinces of Siem Reap, Battambang, Kampong Thom, Pursat, Kampong Cham, and Kandal.
The contribution from Japan, he added, is significantly pushing the realisation of Cambodia’s national policy on clean water in 2030.
