Japan Confers a High Decoration to a Cambodian Dignitary

H.E. Keo Puth Reasmey, Former Deputy Prime Minister and High Privy Councillor of His Majesty the King of Cambodia, obtained the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Star of Japan.

According to a press release from the Embassy of Japan AKP received this afternoon, on May 8, 2018, H.E. Keo Puth Reasmey attended the presentation ceremony and was given an audience by His Majesty the Emperor at the Imperial Palace in Japan, following the announcement of the 2018 Spring Conferment of Decorations by the Government of Japan on April 29, 2018.

H.E. Keo Puth Reasmey was among the 140 foreign national recipients of the 2018 Spring Conferment of Decorations, in recognition of his contribution to the strengthening of the cooperation and friendly relations between Cambodia and Japan.

Since the year 1986 when H.E. Keo Puth Reasmey joined the National Cambodian Resistance led by HRH Prince Norodom Sihanouk at that time, he has contributed to the bilateral relationship between Japan and Cambodia from the very beginning of time of the peace negotiation in Cambodia towards the Agreements on a Comprehensive Political Settlement of the Cambodia Conflict in 1991. Our two countries enjoy Strategic Partnership nowadays due to his constant devotion to our relationship.
