“Jan. 14” Fixed as PM-Journalist Meeting Day

January 14 every year is fixed to be the day for the meeting between the Prime Minster and journalists to review the progress in the media sector.

At the 4th annual get-together with journalists, spokespersons, and information officials from across the country held here yesterday evening, Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen announced to annually meet and have a solidarity dinner with journalists on Jan. 14.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen also recommended all journalists' associations to organise their conferences before the meeting to discuss their propositions for the Premier.

Jan. 14 also marks the day when Samdech Techo Hun Sen became the Prime Minister of Cambodia.

According to H.E. Khieu Kanharith, Minister of Information, Cambodia currently has 310 print media organisations, some 400 websites and online TVs, 200 TV stations, 221 radio stations, 42 journalists' associations, and 22 representative offices of foreign news agencies, TV and radio, including the newly registered office of the Voice of America (VOA).
