An International Conference on Cambodia and ASEAN Regionalism in the Context of Indo-Pacific is taking place on Aug. 8 at Raffles Hotel Le Royal, Phnom Penh.
This event, comprising of three panel sessions and followed by a wrap-up session at the end, was organised by the International Relations Institute of Cambodia (IRIC) of the Royal Academy of Cambodia in cooperation with Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung.
Dr. Kin Phea, Director General of IRIC, said this important conference attracted 107 participants from Cambodia, the U.S., Germany, Australia, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, China, Russia, and Vietnam.
According to IRIC's website, the event is aimed to commemorate the 52nd anniversary of ASEAN establishment and 20th anniversary of Cambodia's membership in ASEAN, to solemnly highlight the importance, endeavors, achievements and challenges of ASEAN and the relation between Cambodia and ASEAN in accordance with Cambodia's policy of regional and international integration, likewise those of ASEAN, and to examine ASEAN's new architecture and rebalancing in the context of Indo-Pacific.
