Samdech Kralahom Sar Kheng, Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, has granted a farewell meeting to outgoing EU Ambassador to Cambodia H.E. George Edgar at ministry office here in Phnom Penh on Tuesday afternoon.
In the meeting, H.E. George Edgar spoke highly of good cooperation between his team and the Ministry of Interior as well as the Royal Government of Cambodia (RGC) at large.
The outgoing diplomat also appreciated Samdech Kralahom Sar Kheng and his ministry for facilitating consultation forum between the RGC and civil society organisations in Cambodia to meet and discuss development issues.
The EU ambassador was optimistic that the RGC in cooperation with the civil society organisations will continue to closely cooperate and address Cambodia's common challenges, including natural resource management as well as wildlife conservation.
From his end, Samdech Kralahom Sar Kheng thanked the EU as well as the ambassador for the contribution to the development of Cambodia.
The RGC will continue to work intimately with civil society organisations as well as other development stakeholders in Cambodia, underlined the deputy prime minister, adding that legal tools are being developed to better manage Cambodia's natural resources.
Despite some hurdles in the relationship between Cambodia and the EU, Samdech Kralahom Sar Kheng is positive that the two will work hard to address the challenges and continue to cooperate well.
