Ministry of Information is calling for entries of video competition about fake news and its social fallouts among the public, including students and youths.
In an announcement signed by the minister H.E. Khieu Kanharith, the opening for entries will last until Oct. 18 this year.
Eligible pieces are educational videos of at most five minutes covering the mentioned purpose.
Top three winners of the challenge will receive the ministry's prizes along with the cash of 4,000,000 Cambodian Riel [about US$1,000] for the first place, 3,000,000 Riel for the second place, and 1,500,000 Riel for the third place.
The initiative is part of government's endeavour to promote public awareness on immense social implication of fake news and to foster ethical journalism and media literacy, while the Kingdom as well as the world is in full swing of digitalisation.
