Indonesia Aims to Invest in Railway and Seaport in Cambodia

Indonesia has expressed its interest to expand business and invest in railway and seaport sectors in Cambodia.

As said in news release of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MPWT), H.E. Budi Karya Sumadi, Minister of Transportation of Indonesia, unveiled the plan to H.E. Sun Chanthol, Senior Minister and Minister of MPWT, during a working dinner on Sept. 18 in Indonesia.

H.E. Budi Karya Sumadi also shared potentials and experience of Indonesia in railway and seaport sector.

On the occasion, both sides lauded good cooperation in transport infrastructure between the two countries, both in the regional and global frameworks.

From his end, H.E. Sun Chanthol welcomed the investment plan and informed Indonesian side about new and existing railway and seaport development projects of Cambodia.

He encouraged the Indonesian counterpart to visit Cambodia for feasibility study of the said investment plan.

H.E. Sun Chanthol is paying official visit, from Sept. 18 to 21, in Indonesia to strengthen and expand cooperation in transport infrastructure (road, railway, waterway and seaport) between Cambodia and Indonesia.
