Improving Small Package e-Trade for SMEs Project Signed

A Memorandum of Understanding on the implementation of Improving Small Package e-Trade for SMEs (SeT4SME) project was signed this week between the Ministry of Commerce and Swisscontact, representing the Global Alliance for Trade Facilitation.

The MoU was inked by H.E. Ms. Tekreth Kamrong, Secretary of State for the Ministry of Commerce, and Mr. Rajiv Pradhan, Country Director of Swisscontact in Cambodia.

The main aim of the project is to contribute to implementing trade facilitation and e-trade to improve cross-border trade environment through connecting data interchange system between the General Department of Customs and Excise, and Cambodia Post with trade partners.

It also aimed to strengthen e-commerce environment of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) through the creation of electronic plateform for small package transport to help MSMEs, so that Cambodia can gain advantages from e-trade as maximum as possible.

H.E. Ms. Tekreth Kamrong thanked Swisscontact for launching the project, and added that an orientation commission will be formed to ensure the effectiveness and success of the project.

She also highlighted Go4eCAM project being actively carried out by the ministry, especially the establishment of Cambodiatrade.com to support SMEs in selling Cambodian products both in domestic and international markets.
