Germany Reaffirms Continued Contribution to Cambodia’s Development

Germany has reaffirmed its continued contribution to Cambodia's development as well as its continued support to sub-national administration management reform.

Visiting H.E. Norbert Barthle, Parliamentary State Secretary to the Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany, made the commitment while holding talks with Samdech Kralahom Sar Kheng, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, at the ministry office here yesterday, according to the ministry's news release.

H.E. Norbert Barthle praised the Ministry of Interior for subsequent success of sub-national administration reform programme, and underlined Germany's intention to continue taking part in the development of Cambodia. He also invited Samdech Sar Kheng to pay a visit to Germany in his convenient time.

For his part, Samdech Sar Kheng thanked Germany for its support to Cambodia's development so far.

The Royal Government of Cambodia (RGC) has been paying attention to the enhancement of capacity of commune/Sangkat officials, so that they are able to develop their respective localities through annual budget increase from 2020 to 2023, he added.

The RGC, especially the Ministry of Interior, is expanding the One Window Service Office across the country, in addition to current 50 offices in order to strengthen public service provision with transparency and effectiveness, pointed out the Cambodian DPM.
