GDCE Collects US$76 million from Import Tax on Right-hand Drive Vehicles Tax

The General Department of Customs and Excise (GDCE) has collected some US$76 million from import tax and import duties on right-hand drive vehicles and illegal imported vehicles.

At a press conference on July 7, H.E. Kun Nhim, Minister Attached to the Prime Minister and GDCE Director General said that as of June 30, 2022, 9,753 right-hand drive vehicles and illegal imported vehicles have registered and paid import tax and import duties.

In a gathering here yesterday with the Cambodian delegation who will depart for the ASEAN Para Games in Indonesia, Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen allowed the remaining right-hand drive vehicles in the country to pay tax without changing over to left-hand drive.

The Premier emphasised that all right-hand drive vehicles are not no longer allowed to be imported in Cambodia.
