GDCE Collects Almost US$1.3 Billion as Customs Income in First Half

The General Department of Customs and Excise (GDCE) collected a total of US$1,293 million as customs income in the first semester of 2022, equivalent to 50.1 percent of the yearly plan, reflecting the revival of the country's import and export activities hardly affected by COVID-19

The figures were shared by H.E. Kun Nhem, Minister Attached to the Prime Minister, Director General of GDCE, at a press conference on July 7.

H.E. Kun Nhim stated that the customs income in the first six months of 2022 is equal to half of the yearly plan set by the Ministry of Economy and Finance.

During the January-June period, the main source of income was the import taxe on vehicles, which accounted for 43 percent of the total customs income.
